Councillor Carole Jones and volunteers have been working so hard to stock and make ready The Vale Pantry at 35A Market Place, Sturminster Newton.
For a small weekly fee local residents can join up as members and access a whole range of benefits including a weekly shop.
The Pantry opened its doors for the first time today and is open each Thursday 5.00pm to 8.00pm and Saturday 9.00am to 12 noon.
